2nd Case of Stolen NJ Show Dogs

EDISON, N.J. -- For the second time this month, show dogs have been stolen in New Jersey. In both cases, the thefts occurred when the owner left prized pooches alone in a vehicle.
“I just froze,” said owner Faye Adcox. “If it hadn’t been for some of my friends, who were like, ‘Call 911,’ I’d probably still be standing there, just totally shocked."
For years, Adcox has attended a dog show in New Jersey, often stopping to eat at Harold’s deli in Edison. But Saturday while dining there, her two Corgie show dogs, two year old Daddy Warbucks, and one year old Sammy, were stolen. They were taken from her vehicle, which now displays a flier offering a reward for their recovery.
Since losing the dogs, Adcox has returned home to Delaware without them.
“That’s the hardest part,” she said of leaving her dogs behind. “I feel like I’m abandoning them at this point. Because we’ve looked and looked and we can’t find them … I’ve never been without them.”
Adcox said the dogs were left for in her SUV for 45 minutes; the vehicle’s windows open a crack. A third dog in the vehicle wasn’t stolen.
This just weeks after Pounder, a 170-pound Mastiff show dog, was stolen from a car while his owner stopped for a few minutes in a Secaucus, N.J. hotel to use the restroom. The huge dog was recovered days later after two people claim to have found him running down a nearby highway. Adcox said she was unaware of Pounder’s theft. She does know many are questioning her judgment.
“Sometimes some of the handlers travel with 10, 15 dogs. And they can’t possibly take 10, 15 dogs inside everywhere they go.”
But Adcox agreed that she should have used stronger measures to ensure the safety of her dogs.
“That will probably be something that a lot of people will be doing from now on,” she said.
Police said there have been no other dogs taken lately in Edison.
As for Adcox’ dogs being left alone, authorities gave this advice.
“In this situation, dogs as valuable as this, it’s strongly advisable not to leave them unattended in the vehicle,” said Sgt. Robert Dudash of the Edison Police Department.
Based on current evidence, Dudash couldn’t confirm nor deny whether the incident was premeditated.
“It’s unclear at this point if it was random, or if these dogs were actually sought out,” he said. “It is under investigation at this time.”
“I’m pretty sure I will not leave my dogs alone ever again,” said Adcox. “Evening, at any time whatsoever.”
The best hope for the dogs so far has come from psychics. Three different psychics have contacted Faye Adcox, and each said there’s reason for optimism.
“Yes, I have had a couple of psychics tell me that I will get my dogs back within three days, they are fine,” she said. “And they people who have them are going to take them to a shelter and I will get them back.”

“它们是我生命中最重要的东西，我感觉我好象是把它们丢在了哪里，但我找啊找，找了很多地方都没找到，我不能没有它们。”
在此一周前，一只170磅的獒犬在主人停车的几分钟内被盗。几天后被人发现这只狗走在高速路上。
阿德科斯说他不知道那次偷盗事件，不然他会小心一点。
有的时候一些艺人在旅行中要带10到15只狗，他们不可能他这些狗随时随地地带着。
阿德科斯也说他应该用更安全的方法运送这些狗。这件事情后很多人应该会加强措施了。
现在还不知道这些狗是否被卖出，关于此事正在调查中。
阿德科斯：“我以后绝对不会在丢下我的狗了，不管什么时候。有一对心理学家告诉我会在3天内找到我的狗，他们会很好的，如果有人看到了 它们请把他们送到收养所，我会把它们接回来。”
警方不会相信这两个贼会把狗送回来，所以他们准备了报酬给任何能提供线索的人：320-242-8877或者登陆：corgpinmom@aol.com 。
